One of the world's leading marine research facilities, the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut offers both entertainment and education with their informative exhibits.

The aquarium has thousands of different species of marine life including bonnethead sharks, often described as one of the most exotic shark species in the world. There are also jellyfish, whales, sea lions, African penguins, dolphins, sting rays, and many more exciting creatures in their natural habitats.

There is a great combination of both indoor and outdoor exhibits available for exploration throughout most of the year. Some of the most popular include the African penguins, beluga whales, underwater views of the sea lions, and a 30 thousand gallon tank displaying exotic fish from all over the world.

Exhibits are extremely kid-friendly, viewable from short distances off of the ground, making them viewable to their smaller guests. A favorite among children is the ray touch pool, allowing students of all ages to touch the backs of cownose rays as they “fly” through the water.

The aquarium also is home to many different programs, events, and educational opportunities. To find out more, visit their Programs schedule at http://www.mysticaquarium.org/index.cgi/267
